6.4 Project Assignment: DSM Gallery Walk – Intervention #2: Summary of Culturally-Sensitive Evidenced-Based Intervention

Throughout this course, you will be working on a major project that culminates in Workshop Seven with a slideshow presentation. In Workshop One, you chose a diagnostic category as the focus of your project. In Workshop Two, you created a case vignette that includes an assessment and presenting problem. In Workshop Three, you conducted a literature review. In Workshop Four, you identified a differential and dual diagnosis for your vignette. Now in Workshops Five & Six, you will be discussing evidence-based interventions used for treatment. Finally, in Workshop Seven you will wrap up the Final Presentation with a closing Summary for the Gallery Walk.The virtual “Gallery Walk” in Workshop Eight is an opportunity to review and critique all the presentations that your classmates have created during the course. And they, in turn, will have an opportunity to review and critique yours. The Gallery Walk provides an opportunity for you to learn about multiple diagnoses and their treatments.Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:Integrate the importance of diversity and difference in shaping life experiences into clinical practice (PLO 2; ILO 8).
Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.Use the literature review you researched from Workshop 3 to write a summary of your second intervention using the following outline:Title that includes the name of the intervention and the diagnosis you are using.Description of what occurs in the intervention.Research showing the effectiveness of the intervention with the disorder in your vignette.Application of how you would use this intervention with the client in the vignette.Culturally-Sensitive: Conclude your paper with supporting evidence that this intervention is culturally sensitive to your client’s Identifying Data.
