# Bias in the health care system. Scientific/ Mathematical perspective

Compose a focused paper that explains and describes bias in the healthcare from the scientific and mathematical/analytical perspectives of inquiry. (You will cover two perspectives in one paper.)
The purpose of the paper is two-fold: to convince the reader that the problem you have chosen is an important one,and to provide credible evidence to prove the existence of the problem.
1. The introduction and thesis should be at least a page. Introduction and thesis: The purpose of the introduction is to get the reader’s attention so you should provide some ‘shocking’ data that gets his or her attention. At the end of the introduction, you should provide your thesis. The introduction and thesis should be at least a page.
Body: Ask yourself the following questions:Evidence to prove that the problem exists: In this section, you should provide statistics that prove that the problem exists. Your goal should be to paint a picture of the extent of the problem. IN THIS SECTION YOU WILL PROVIDE AS MUCH CREDIBLE AND RECENT (IDEALLY LAST 5 YEARS) DATAOpposing Viewpoint: In some cases, there may be an opposing viewpoint, and if that’s the case, then you must tell the reader what the opposing viewpoint is and argue against it.Ask yourself the following questions:How many people are affected by the problem?Who are these people? Rich, poor? White, African-Americans and so on. Children or adults? Is the problem geographically isolated or is it prevalent all over the country?Again, your goal should be to make sure the reader understands the WHAT regarding the problem.
Address bias in healthcare by forming and answering two levels of research questions for each inquiry.Choose a “Level 1 Research Question/Writing Prompt” from both of the lists below to answer in the paper.Compose a “Level 2 Research Question/Writing Prompt” for each kind of inquiry that provides detail, specificity, and focus to your inquiry, research, and writing.State your research questions in the introduction of your paper.Answer each research question and support your assertions with evidence (research) to form the body of yourpaper. In the conclusion of the paper, briefly review the issues, research questions, answers, and insights.Level 1 Research Questions/Writing PromptsSCIENTIFIC Perspective of InquiryWhat are the anatomical, physiological, pathological, or epidemiological issues?Which body systems are affected? What happens at the cellular or genetic level?Which chemical or biological issues are most important?
Level 2 Research Questions/Writing PromptsMATHEMATICAL/ANALYTICAL Perspective of InquiryWhat are the economic issues involved?Which economic theories or approaches best explain the issue? What are the statistical facts related to the issue?Which statistical processes used to study the issue provide for the best explanation or understanding?Your paper must be five pages in length and reference four to six scholarly, peer-reviewed resources. Be sure to follow current APA Style (e.g., spacing, font, headers, titles, abstracts, page numbering).
