Individuals are observed and the study is used to estimate odds, no intervention is attempted. The pyramid is used as an organization for different types of evidenced-based research, the bottom of the pyramid shows an increase in evidence but a decrease in quality (Academic Guides: Evidence-Based Research: Levels of Evidence Pyramid, 2021). When researching, it’s always recommended to look for the highest level of evidence-based on the clinical question.
